DFW Training/Quality Assurance Manager - Dallas, TX

Laz ParkingDallas, TX
Onsite

About The Position

The Training/QA Manager owns two connected missions: building the technical capability of the workforce and independently verifying the quality of the work leaving both shops. On the training side, this role stands up and runs the division's onboarding curriculum, OEM training programs, safety training, and ASE certification progression. On the QA side, it audits completed repairs and PM inspections, tracks comebacks and chronic repeat repairs, and verifies DOT/TxDMV inspection quality – giving the GM and the airport an independent check that the fleet is being fixed right, not patched. EcoFleet is a leading fleet management company specializing in commercial and airport fleet operations, providing maintenance, leasing, washing, and fueling services nationwide. In joint venture with LAZ Parking, EcoFleet operates the stand-alone maintenance division supporting the consolidated bussing services contract at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) – a fleet of approximately 195 transit buses, cutaways, and support vehicles across CNG, diesel, gasoline, and EV platforms. We are not just offering a job; we are offering a career path with a company that invests in its employees and is growing nationally.

Requirements

  • Strong technical background in transit bus or heavy fleet maintenance – credible enough to audit an A-level technician's diagnosis and coach a C-level technician's fundamentals.
  • Experience building or running technician training programs, apprenticeships, or certification pipelines.
  • Working knowledge of quality audit methods: sampling, scoring rubrics, comeback tracking, and root-cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with DOT/TxDMV inspection standards, OSHA shop safety, and alternative fuel (CNG/EV/HV) safety requirements.
  • Proficiency with VMS platforms (Fleetio preferred), telematics (Samsara), and standard office software for records and reporting.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license; must pass a federal background check and DFW airport badging requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • 7+ years of fleet or transit maintenance experience; prior training, QA, or technical instructor role strongly preferred.
  • ASE Master (H or T series) strongly preferred; FMCSA/state-certified trainer credentials a plus.
  • EV high-voltage safety instructor certification and/or CNG fuel system certification a strong plus.
  • Associate's or technical degree in diesel/automotive technology or adult education preferred; equivalent experience accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver the technician onboarding curriculum for go-live: safety orientation, Fleetio work-order documentation, Samsara, shop procedures, and airport badging/security requirements.
  • Coordinate OEM and platform training – Cummins, Allison, Eldorado, Arboc, and BYD/EV high-voltage – including scheduling factory courses and building in-house refresher modules.
  • Administer the ASE certification program: assess incoming technicians, map C-to-B-to-A progression plans, schedule exams, and track company-paid certification completion.
  • Run the QA audit program: sample completed work orders and PM inspections (PMA/PMI cycles) at both shops, score quality against standards, and publish findings to the GM and AGMs.
  • Track and analyze comebacks and chronic repeat repairs; lead root-cause reviews with lead technicians so patch-not-fix patterns are eliminated, not repeated.
  • Audit DOT/TxDMV inspection quality and documentation completeness; ensure the division is always audit-ready for airport, internal, and outside-firm reviews.
  • Deliver and document recurring safety training: lockout/tagout, lift safety, HV/EV safety, CNG handling, and annual refreshers, in coordination with the national safety team.
  • Maintain the division's training records and skills matrix in Fleetio/HR systems; report training compliance and QA metrics monthly.
  • Support incumbent technician assessment during transition: evaluate skill levels of transitioning SP+ technicians and build individual development plans.

Benefits

  • Paid certifications – we fund ASE and OEM certifications to keep your credentials at the top of the industry.
  • National exposure – partner directly with the national safety team, OEM training organizations, and outside audit firms.
