About The Position

The Gray Media Training Program is a 10-week immersive experience designed to train the next generation of media professionals in producing, reporting, weather forecasting, and sales. Participants will gain hands-on experience in real-world assignments, create digital content, collaborate with industry veterans, and build a professional portfolio. The program aims to provide a fast-track to full-time career opportunities within Gray Media's network.

Requirements

Current enrollment as a college student (Junior or Senior status preferred).
Pursuing a degree in Journalism, Communications, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
A 'doer' mindset with initiative and a willingness to work.
Understanding of digital media platforms.
Strong work ethic, organization, and a 'can-do' attitude.
Clear and confident communication skills.
Commitment to the full 10-week program and a 25-hour weekly schedule.
Passion for the community and local media.
Currently enrolled in college/university (preferred Junior/Senior) (Broadcast Major).
Strong work ethic and organizational skills.
Earning a degree in Journalism/Communications, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, News, Sports, or related fields, with a desire to get hands-on experience in the local media industry.

Responsibilities

Craft the lead story for the evening news.
Track a cold front on weather tech.
Close a digital ad deal.
Handle real-world assignments that may go on air and online.
Create content for social media, streaming apps, and web stories.
Collaborate with seasoned veterans in the media industry.
Master a chosen specialty and build a professional-grade portfolio.
Tell stories that matter to the community or help local businesses grow.
