Training Program Intern (Summer)

HEALTHY KIDS PROGRAMSTown of Fishkill, NY
Onsite

About The Position

We’re Healthy Kids — a certified Benefit Corporation running before- and after-school programs and summer camps across 15 states. We’re building a training program from the ground up for our ~700 part-time teachers and our field leadership, and this summer we’re looking for a sharp, AI-savvy intern to help us build the heart of it: the training videos. The tools have changed. With today’s AI video platforms, one resourceful person can produce clean, professional training videos without a crew or years of editing experience. You won’t do it alone — our leadership team owns the program and the expertise; your job is to take what’s in their heads and turn it into bite-sized videos that actually land with staff in Alabama, New York, Florida, and everywhere in between. We believe someone who really knows AI tools can punch way above their weight class in terms of output — and that’s exactly the kind of person we’re looking for. You don’t need to be a childcare expert — we have those. You don’t need a degree, either. What you need to be is sharp, resourceful, and someone who figures things out. If you can sit with a subject matter expert, pull the important stuff out of their head, and turn it into a clean 3-minute training video using the tools available today — including AI — this internship is for you.

Requirements

  • Smart and driven. You may be a student or early in your career, but you learn fast, work hard, and don’t wait to be told what to do next. You figure it out.
  • Comfortable building videos with AI. You’ve used tools like Synthesia, HeyGen, Colossyan, Descript, Canva AI, ChatGPT, or Claude to make content, and you’re genuinely excited to go deeper. We’re not looking for someone who’s “open to AI” — we want someone who already reaches for it to build videos and content. This is the single most important thing for this role.
  • No film background required. You don’t need a camera, a studio, or years of editing experience. If you can make a clean, watchable video using AI tools, you’re exactly who we want.
  • A strong writer. You can write a clear, punchy text message. You can write a script that sounds like a person talking, not a policy manual. Short-form content is your thing.
  • A great listener and synthesizer. You may not know what a SACC regulation is on day one, but you can sit with someone who does, ask the right questions, and turn a 45-minute conversation into a 3-minute training video.
  • A builder mentality. You’re energized by the messiness of building something from nothing and you’d rather ship something good today than plan something perfect for next quarter.
  • No degree required. We care about what you can do, not where you went to school.
  • Requires regular on-site work and occasional local travel. This is not a remote position.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with an LMS or SMS platforms is a plus, not a requirement.
  • Bonus: background in education, youth development, or multi-site operations.

Responsibilities

  • Build training videos using AI platforms — scripting, generating, and editing polished short videos with tools like Imagine.Art, Synthesia, HeyGen, Colossyan, Descript, and Canva AI
  • Interview and collaborate with our Executive Directors, Regional Directors, and subject matter experts to extract their expertise and translate it into clear, engaging training content
  • Organize content into our three training tracks and build the learning paths that guide staff through them
  • Help organize where the videos live and how our largely part-time, mobile-first staff find and watch them on their phones
  • Help build out our text-message microlearning — drafting short, punchy content that staff actually read
  • Use AI tools heavily — for scripting, storyboarding, video creation, editing workflows, and content repurposing. AI isn’t a nice-to-have in this role; it’s how you’ll multiply your output.
  • Partner with operations leaders to measure whether training is actually moving the needle on program quality

Benefits

  • $18.00 per hour, paid weekly, with On-Demand Pay so you can access your earnings early
  • Hands-on mentorship from our COO, CMO, and field leaders
  • A portfolio of real, AI-built training videos used by staff across the country
  • Flexible summer schedule coordinated with your supervisor
  • Potential to continue with Healthy Kids beyond the summer for the right person
