About The Position

This role is responsible for conducting various types of training, including onboarding, refresher courses, compliance, and job-specific training for both employees and temporary associates. The specialist will deliver training in line with company policies, safety standards, operational procedures, and customer requirements. A key part of the role involves maintaining accurate training records, certifications, evaluations, and tracking completion. The position also requires providing hands-on instruction for equipment operation, systems, processes, and safety practices, as well as evaluating employee competency, offering coaching, and identifying performance gaps. The Training & Performance Specialist will develop and maintain training materials, schedules, matrices, and supporting documentation. Collaboration with Operations, Safety, Quality, and HR is essential to support employee development and regulatory compliance. The role also involves supporting audits, recertifications, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives, as well as identifying training needs and implementing solutions to enhance performance and operational effectiveness. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of training, learning and development, or related experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification required or ability to obtain certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Experience in warehouse operations, logistics, safety, quality, onboarding, or workforce development preferred.
  • Experience delivering classroom and hands-on training, conducting evaluations, and managing certification or compliance programs preferred.
  • Safety certification, training certification, or related coursework preferred.
  • Train-the-Trainer certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Operations, Safety, Quality, and HR to support employee development and regulatory compliance.
  • Support audits, recertifications, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify training needs and implement solutions to improve performance and operational effectiveness.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
