About The Position

The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. We are a true farm-to-table company with an integrated portfolio including food processing and food brands, phosphate mining, fertilizer manufacturing, farming, ranching and cattle production, and other enterprises related to agriculture. This individual will provide support and leadership for the training functions at the Plant. This is inclusive of operations, maintenance, ESH, engineering, leadership and professional development training. They will enhance developmental opportunities and execute technical training strategies and initiatives that provide employees the skills to meet the expectations of their roles, enhancing their ability to achieve greater results and sustain compliance with all state and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree required
  • 5+ years related experience and/or training
  • Knowledge of learning management software.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Windows, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with strong presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and networks.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Determine instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, conferences, workshops, computer-based training, and demonstrations; select appropriate courseware and training materials.
  • Establish standards for training programs and document control.
  • Partner with corporate resources to effectively execute training initiatives.
  • Establish methodology for technician qualification and continuous learning.
  • Provide direction to enhance technical engineering development opportunities.
  • Research and incorporate training techniques and technologies that match industry best practice.
  • Develop in-house training or utilize effective outside resources to deliver training.
  • Review effectiveness of training and offer alternative solutions to ensure objectives are met.
  • Lead the effort to continuously enhance the plants talent management program, to support employee engagement, growth/development, and retention.
