The Office of Unemployment Insurance Operations (OUIO) administers Ohio's unemployment insurance program, which provides short-term income to unemployed workers who lose their jobs through no fault of their own. As an Unemployment Insurance (UI) Training Officer, you will serve as a critical resource in strengthening the knowledge, skills and performance of UI personnel. This role focuses on training. It includes finding out what training is needed, creating easy-to-understand learning materials and leading engaging training sessions that follow current policies, procedures and rules. You will collaborate closely with subject matter experts, supervisors, policy teams and operational units to ensure training content is accurate, relevant and effective. Your work directly supports service quality, operational consistency, compliance, helping staff confidently navigate UI systems, claims processes and customer facing tasks. This position is well-suited for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, has strong communication and instructional skills and is passionate about developing others.
