Responsible for leading team of Training Specialists who design, facilitate, and measure learning and development interventions, this role will support employees and leaders in a fast paced retail environment with skills, product knowledge, systems, business strategy, and member experiences. This right candidate will act as a thought leader, proactively bringing forward external insights, emerging trends, and innovative practices to challenge current approaches and share the future of training across all branches in the footprint. What you will do: Partner with business line leadership to develop and execute a retail-focused learning strategy aligned to operational goals, member experience standards, and workforce needs. Ensure learning solutions are learner-centered, inclusive, and grounded in adult learning principles, with a strong emphasis on practical application. Conduct regular branch visits to coach leaders, trainers, observe performance, and validate transfer of learning. Design and oversee learning programs for frontline onboarding, role readiness, product and service knowledge, compliance, and retail leadership development. Lead and build the skill of a team that designs microlearning, job aids, and performance support tools that fit the pace and realities of frontline retail work, including rapid onboarding, skill reinforcement, and career progression. Project manage training rollouts for new initiatives, systems, and operational changes including stakeholder management, pilot testing, deployment planning, and post launch sustainment. Lead the design, collection, and continuous evolution of training evaluation to measure learning effectiveness, behavior change, and business impact. Create development programs leaders that strengthen coaching, performance management, and people leadership skills Oversee delivery of instructor-led, virtual, and self-paced learning experiences across multiple retail locations. Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and leadership programs as needed, both in-person and virtually. Administers and optimizes LMS workflows (assignments, completions, reporting) to ensure training compliance and visibility for leaders and learners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Required or graduate degree (preferred) in education, organizational development, adult education, instructional design, or a related field; Preferred or 10 years of relevant experience
  • Training and/or advanced field or industry certifications or designations preferred (e.g. CPTD, SHRM-CP, ATD etc.)
  • Solid understanding of retail environment realities and familiarity with KPIs that ensure learning interventions are practical, relevant, and behavior changing.
  • Managing/leading a training function and experience working in high volume retail field.
  • Experience designing and scaling learning programs for distributed or frontline workforces.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills with retail leaders and frontline employees.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication skills, and the ability to coach others.
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS), virtual learning, and blended delivery models.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience measuring learning impact and performance outcomes.
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution in a fast-paced retail environment, capable of juggling multiple initiatives, priorities, and follow through.
  • Proficiency with design and evaluation models
  • Articulate Storyline, RISE
  • Adobe Creative Suite, or similar photo, video, audio creation and editing tools
  • Virtual facilitation platforms
