Reporting to the Chief Flight Instructor, the Training Manager – Flight Operations will assist in overseeing the daily operations of flight training programs across assigned fleets. The incumbent will ensure that all training programs meet appropriate standards, contribute to the development of training content, and support tasks as assigned by the Chief Flight Instructor.

Requirements

  • University or college diploma, in aviation-related fields, or equivalent years of professional experience.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a similar position, preferably within a flight operations or training environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Flight Operations Manual, Aircraft Operating Manual, Training Processes & Procedures and Canadian Aviation Regulations.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to contribute effectively to team environments and manage tasks efficiently.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the country of interest at the time any offer of employment is made and are responsible for obtaining any required work permits, visas, or other authorizations necessary for employment. Prior to their start date, candidates will also need to provide proof of their eligibility to work in the country of interest.

Nice To Haves

  • Have or has held an Airline Transport Pilot License with at least 3 years with a CARS704 or \ 705 Canadian Air Operator is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and tracking of the day-to-day activities of Flight Instructors (FI), Full Flight Simulator (FFS) Instructors, Initial Operating Training Captains (IOETC), and Ground School Instructors to ensure compliance with qualifications and proficiency standards.
  • In collaboration with the Manager, Flight Operations Training, schedule and execute annual assessments of Flight Operations Instructors, through various training events and in accordance with the Advanced Qualification Program (AQP).
  • Maintain accurate records of all training programs to ensure they meet Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) standards.
  • Responsible for keeping the fleet type training programs up to date, capturing new policies, procedures, and system modifications as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the training department and the Chief Flight Instructor to ensure continuous improvement, standardization between fleet types where possible and to communicate/train instructors as necessary.
  • Monitor and report on fleet training manpower availability and scheduling needs in coordination with the Chief Flight Instructor.
  • Track and manage all training events conducted by fleet assigned personnel (i.e. IOETCs, FI's, contract Instructors), ensuring timely completion and documentation.
  • Prepare and update training event scripts and related documentation in collaboration with the training department and the Chief Flight Instructor.
  • Assist in ensuring fleet type simulators meet the required operational standard by ensuring TC certification is maintained and ongoing serviceability is monitored and addressed as needed.
  • Responsible for ensuring consistency of product and standardization of training by liaising with the training department and other fleet training managers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager, Flight Operations Training.
