About The Position

The Training Leader is responsible for designing, facilitating, and managing comprehensive training and employee development strategies within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. This role supports both hourly and salaried populations while aligning training initiatives with plant performance goals, operational excellence, and continuous improvement efforts. The Training Leader plays a critical role in building workforce capability, enhancing employee engagement, and strengthening leadership development across the site. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of training and development experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience, including leading teams and driving development initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience working in fast paced, high volume manufacturing settings.
  • Strong ability to collaborate across cross functional teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and build trust and credibility.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including aligning training strategy with business objectives.
  • Experience in team development, coaching, and employee engagement.
  • Ability to facilitate small and large group training sessions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 tools and applications (SharePoint, Teams, etc.).
  • Knowledge of learning management systems (LMS) or training tracking systems.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Self starter with strong initiative and problem solving skills.
  • Experience designing career development or succession planning programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a strong understanding of plant processes, systems, and operational challenges to effectively support workforce development and training strategy.
  • Partners closely with Operations, Maintenance, Warehousing, Quality, and other plant functions to identify hiring, onboarding, and retention opportunities.
  • Builds strong relationships through consistent presence on the manufacturing floor, engaging frontline employees, supervisors, and leaders.
  • Serves as a liaison between Operations and HR to support talent acquisition, onboarding effectiveness, and employee retention efforts.
  • Conducts needs assessments using surveys, interviews, focus groups, and leadership input to identify skill gaps and development opportunities.
  • Designs, plans, and executes onboarding, technical training, and leadership development programs.
  • Delivers training using diverse instructional techniques including simulations, role playing, team exercises, hands on demonstrations, and classroom instruction.
  • Develops and implements innovative learning solutions, including career development pathways and skill broadening opportunities.
  • Drives continuous improvement of training materials, systems, and processes using feedback, data, and industry best practices.
  • Leads departmental gap assessments and develops action plans to close capability gaps across the organization.
  • Supports plant performance metrics by implementing training initiatives that improve productivity, quality, safety, and lean manufacturing practices.
  • Collaborates with Workforce Development Leaders and other sites to share best practices and standardize training approaches.
  • Maintains clear, timely, and professional communication with all levels of the organization.
  • Promotes a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and employee development.
  • Participates in external seminars, networks, and professional organizations to stay current on training and manufacturing trends.
  • Serves as GTC (Global Training Coordinator) for the plant.
