About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting the supervisor in maintaining a safe work environment for line associates while ensuring the production of quality products for customers. The role emphasizes cost-saving practices, efficiency, and minimal waste. The Training Lead I will oversee pre-operation and/or tear-down procedures depending on the shift, coordinate line setup, review production issues, schedules, and product specifications, and collaborate with other departments to prevent downtime. This role also involves leading continuous improvement initiatives plant-wide, assigning personnel to workstations, providing direction and training, and recommending corrective actions for non-compliance. Excellent communication and approachability are key, along with the ability to document and maintain legible records for various production aspects like lot tracking, waste, quality checks, and product usage. Basic math skills, data entry proficiency, and attention to detail are necessary. The position requires the ability to read and interpret various operational documents and is expected to cross-train in all lead areas related to production and packaging. Safety is paramount, with the expectation of working safely at all times and being on the floor 95% of the shift. A flexible schedule is required, and other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Regularly required to stand and operate tools or controls.
  • Occasionally required to sit, walk, stoop or crouch.
  • May occasionally move up to 25 pounds with a hoist, pallet-jack or cart.
  • Regularly lift up to 15 pounds of boxes of product, bales of cartons, or rolls of film.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to read, speak, and write in English.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision yet be flexible and have the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to enter data into computer programs.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and production reports such as product usage, packaging, lot tracking, labor tracking, waste control, daily worksheets, and any forms deemed necessary by the Production Manager and Production Supervisor.
  • Must work safely at all times.
  • On the floor 95% of shift.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities
