About The Position

This role is responsible for the delivery of approved technical training materials, with potential involvement in the analysis, design, development, and evaluation of these materials. The technical training provided aims to qualify personnel for various technical positions within plant operations, maintenance, laboratory, radiological control, engineering, and other related fields. The position supports the operation of waste vitrification facilities at the Hanford Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant and contributes to a strong nuclear safety quality culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree preferably with courses in education or training that focus on delivery and testing as well as evaluation of training programs, and 8 years’ experience as a trainer and/or operator at a Department of Energy Nuclear facility or similar high-hazard facility.
  • 1 year of technical training implementation experience or experience with on-the-job training in technical field of expertise.
  • Associate degree preferably with courses in education or training that focus on delivery and testing as well as evaluation of training programs, and 10 years’ experience as a trainer and/or operator at a Department of Energy Nuclear facility or similar high-hazard facility.
  • HS Diploma preferably with courses in education or training that focus on delivery and testing as well as evaluation of training programs, and 12 years’ experience as a trainer and/or operator at a Department of Energy Nuclear facility or similar high-hazard facility.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Must be authorized to work and remain in the United States without Amentum visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
  • Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 6 years’ experience in technical instruction in Naval Nuclear, Department of Energy Nuclear, or Commercial Nuclear Operations.
  • At least 1 years’ experience in technical instruction of a DOE Order 426.2 curricula.
  • At least 6 years technical experience in operations, maintenance, or related technical position in Naval Nuclear, Department of Energy Nuclear, or Commercial Nuclear Operations.
  • At least 1 years’ experience in technical instruction of a DOE Order 426.2 curricula.

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of approved technical training materials.
  • Analysis, design, development, and evaluation of training materials.
  • Implementation of facility operations training programs to support the operation of the waste vitrification facilities.
  • Participation in the process for the analysis, design, development, implementation, administration, and evaluation of nuclear training programs.
  • Administration of a training change process to determine the impact of changes on training programs and make necessary modifications.
  • Participation in team decision-making regarding training programs.
  • Evaluation and processing of project training requests.
  • Interfacing with customers, reporting progress, and identifying and performing improvement initiatives.
  • Participation in team decision processes for the analysis of project systems and processes for the creation of training materials, including interpretation of technical drawings and documents.
  • Determination and sequencing of activities for major systems and evolutions.
  • Performing data input and manipulation in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Performing instruction and orientation in systems and processes.
  • Supporting the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing safety and quality.
  • Performing other training-related tasks as required to support the project mission.
