About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Training Instructor to join our team at NVMHI. The Training Instructor position is a dynamic, proactive, collaborative position within the Staff Development and Training Department. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering engaging and effective training programs for our staff. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our workforce is equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in their roles. The ideal candidate can work well as a part of a team but also is self-motivated and able to work independently. The ideal candidate is able to work well with all staff from direct care/front line staff through executive leadership.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a psychiatric setting.
  • Experience with the Suite of Microsoft Products.
  • Experience teaching, training, or precepting adult learners.
  • Experience with adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Must be highly organized, detail oriented and be able to meet deadlines with multiple competing priorities.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in a human services field.
  • Prior experience with a learning management system.
  • Prior experience providing live, virtual, and blended learning training/classes.
  • Prior experience with accreditation bodies, CMS, OSIG, and other similar oversight bodies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement training programs, including creating lesson plans, presentations, and other materials.
  • Conduct training sessions, both in-person and remotely, ensuring a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Facilitate orientation sessions, ensuring a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assess staff performance and provide constructive feedback to improve skills and knowledge.
  • Identify training needs and gaps within the organization and develop targeted solutions at the direction of supervisor.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Track training completion and compliance using established protocols.
