About The Position

The Training Instructor II will perform a wide range of duties involved primarily in the development and presentation of diversified technical heavy equipment training courses for company product lines to distributors, customers, Manitowoc and MGX Equipment Services employees. This role will require significant travel. Additionally, the Training Instructor II will maintain all related records and reports.

Requirements

  • In depth crane troubleshooting experience
  • Excellent public speaking skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Point and Adobe products
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills as well as organizational and time management skills a must.
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical degree
  • 5-8 years’ experience
  • Must be able to work outdoors on cranes performing troubleshooting, diagnostic and disassembly-assembly work, in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to climb and work at heights up to and over 300 feet.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • International & Domestic 70% travel
  • Must possess or can acquire a US passport.

Responsibilities

  • Work from schedules and instructions from superior as to general course or presentation requirements and parameters and in close cooperation with Engineering, Production, Quality Assurance and other pertinent departments and personnel in the accumulation of technical and general subject material.
  • Prepare and submit short- and long-range course schedule for review and/or approval; make recommended changes.
  • For approved courses, develop and prepare all necessary curricula outlines and classroom presentations; obtain and correlate all required training and illustrative material and equipment.
  • As directed, confer with various art, photographic and other company personnel as necessary in the design and development of charts, photos, movies and other presentative material; as approved, obtain commercially available or developed material.
  • Prepare and submit finished course outlines and/or individual lectures for review and approval.
  • Conduct classes for company, distributor and/or customer personnel in service, maintenance and repair operations and procedures for all current and past company product cranes and/or components.
  • Conduct similar training and instructional courses or sessions at distributor locations as assigned, either within or outside of the continental limits.
  • Maintain continuing contact with various company departments and personnel to keep abreast of new products, components and techniques; distributor and other field personnel to obtain information as to service and parts requirements, field problems and other related matters.
  • Personally participate in and/or observe crane and component repair operations as necessary to obtain required technical data for training programs or to develop or demonstrate more efficient service and repair procedures and techniques.
