The Training and Development Specialist will develop and deliver training that helps personnel understand and aspire to meet the expectations of their roles. They will apply instructional design principles to execute a scalable training program that promotes high levels of learner engagement, immerses employees in Curia’s culture and values, and helps them perform aspects of their role right first time. Training will focus on building engagement, knowledge, and foundational skills. This role requires experience in good manufacturing and a strong desire to learn best-in-class adult learning practices. Most importantly, it requires someone who cares deeply about people and their career success in the workplace. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum of two (2) years related experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or cleanroom environment
  • Must pass background check
  • Must pass drug screen
  • May be required to pass Occupational Health Screening
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an aseptic gowning trainer certification
  • May be required to wear a respirator

  • Communication: Writes and speaks clearly. Is an engaging and succinct presenter. Is responsive to e-mail. Provides status updates without being prompted.

  • Collaboration: Works well with team members, trainers, trainees, SMEs, and other stakeholders to deliver programming. Builds productive working relationships with personnel across the site.
  • Instructional design: Incorporate user experience design principles to structure presentations.
  • Content design: Designs content to optimize knowledge retention and skill-building.
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as, but not limited to, safety instructions, standard operating procedures, policies, and manuals. Ability to write clearly and communicate effectively.
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and percentages. Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Able to demonstrate understanding and effective application of written and oral instruction.
  • Can perform basic functions in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Able to quickly adapt and learn new manufacturing software systems. Compliance-based LMS, such as Cornerstone, Canvas/Instructure, Noverant, Litmos, or Sana

Responsibilities

  • Execute multi-week new hire programming that enables new hires to be prepared to go on shift
  • Develop and deliver training topics that support good manufacturing processes, aseptic and cleanroom behaviors, good documentation practices, attainment of media fill qualifications, and any other topics that are required to execute the responsibilities of a production technician
  • Deliver aseptic gowning training to eligible personnel, ensuring the site meets quarterly gowning compliance metrics
  • Hold themselves accountable for on-time delivery of project plan actions
  • Hold trainees accountable for meeting expectations of training programs, and demonstrating values that are aligned with The Curia Way
  • Provide coaching and feedback to trainees, including new and experienced technicians
  • Properly prepare all training documentation
  • Process accurate and timely training completion records for instructor-led sessions in Noverant LMS
  • Embrace a Safety-First culture, ensuring safety practices are followed during any instructor-led training
