Training & Demonstration Specialist
About The Position
As a Training & Demonstration Specialist for John Deere Training Center (Davenport) located in Davenport, IA, you will help shape how our dealers, employees, and customers use our construction equipment to its fullest potential—while clearly communicating the advantages of our portfolio in the market. This role involves partnering with training teams to develop content, serving as a subject matter expert on equipment operation, and delivering training sessions to employees, dealers, and customers. You will also support demonstration site operations, including site readiness, event support, and site maintenance. The position requires approximately 50% travel to support dealer training, demo sites, and customers.
Requirements
- Proven ability to operate construction equipment at an expert level
- Understanding of customer applications in site development, underground, or road building
- Excellent verbal presentation and written communication skills
- Self-starter mindset and comfort working independently
- Ability to travel up to 50%
Nice To Haves
- Prior work in a dealer environment, construction equipment sales/service or product-training role
- Comfort in field settings: you’re as effective on the demo site or jobsite as you are in the classroom
- Knowledge of the Deere dealer-channel and/or construction products, markets and competitors
- Surveying experience and/or experience with systems from Topcon, Trimble or Leica strongly preferred
- Experience with machine-operation or on-site construction equipment
Responsibilities

- Deliver training sessions to employees, dealers, and customers at our Davenport, IA and Sacaton, AZ locations, as well as at dealer locations
- Support demonstration site operations, including site readiness, event support, and site maintenance
- Travel (approximately 50%) to support dealer training, demo sites, and customers
