About The Position

At Resources for Human Development (RHD), we believe that well-trained, supported employees are essential to providing exceptional services to the individuals and communities we serve. We’re seeking an experienced and engaging Training Coordinator to support our Shared Living and Day programs in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. In this role, you’ll help ensure employees have the knowledge, skills, certifications, and ongoing development they need to provide high-quality services. RHD’s Shared Living and Day programs support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through services designed to encourage independence, community participation, personal growth, and quality of life. As the Training Coordinator, you’ll play an important role in strengthening these services by overseeing employee training, supporting regulatory compliance, and ensuring both program administration and direct care employees are prepared to provide quality services.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience delivering training, developing training content, and applying adult learning principles.
  • Comfortable facilitating training for groups of up to 20 people.
  • State Background Check clearance, including required initial and quarterly checks.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required training certifications in MANDT, First Aid, and CPR.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to travel consistently to the program locations for which the position is responsible.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology systems and tools.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and virtual training delivery platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work while effectively managing multiple tasks and projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in an IDD, behavioral health, or human services environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implement standardized training curriculum, including the New Hire Orientation process.
  • Facilitate engaging training sessions to support state and service line goals.
  • Maintain, update, and develop training curricula, content, and materials as needed.
  • Support the implementation of corporate education initiatives.
  • Provide feedback to program management regarding new employee performance during orientation.
  • Help ensure program administration and direct care staff have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide quality services.
  • Ensure accurate training documentation is maintained for employees.
  • Implement standardized procedures for tracking training within Relias.
  • Review training compliance data and corrective action plans.
  • Help programs maintain compliance with regulatory, licensing, certification, and funder training requirements.
  • Support programs in preparing for state surveys and ensuring required federal and state compliance training is completed.
  • Assist programs with required staff licensing and certifications.
  • Communicate regularly with program management regarding employee training needs and compliance.
  • Provide oversight and support to designated training staff.
  • Identify inconsistencies or gaps in program training requirements and processes.
  • Help streamline new-hire onboarding and standardize training practices where appropriate.
  • Provide training support across responsible program locations.
  • Assist programs with operational tasks and oversight as assigned.
  • Partner with RHD's Corporate Training and Education team to support high-quality training content.
  • Assist with developing supplemental program-specific training materials.
  • Support effective use of Relias for training tracking and reporting.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly KPI and training reports to appropriate leadership.
  • Build collaborative relationships with internal teams, employees, stakeholders, and external partners.
