The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Texas (NAMI Texas) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 1984. Affiliated with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), NAMI Texas has 25 local affiliates throughout Texas and nearly 2,000 members. The organization's purpose is to improve the lives of people affected by mental illness through education, support, and advocacy. NAMI Texas offers various education and support programs for individuals with mental illness, their families, friends, professionals, and the broader community. NAMI Texas' hiring practices comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the Rehab Act of 1973, and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) guidelines. The Training Coordinator will report to and support the Program Director to ensure efficient and effective operations, communications, programs, and trainings. The ultimate goal is to support affiliate staff, volunteers, and potential volunteers in increasing the capacity of programs offered by local NAMI affiliates across Texas.
