About The Position

The Training Coordinator is responsible for leading the plant’s training program, analyzing training needs, developing curriculum, creating training documents, and delivering courses. This role involves operations, safety, and product safety and quality responsibilities within a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • A combination of professional development and related experience.
  • Skilled in creating training materials using various platforms, i.e.: Digital Media, Interactive Power Point Presentations, MS Office Tools, etc.
  • Experienced delivering training content through various means.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Must be able to communicate on a one-on-one basis or in group situations, understand instructions, and follow SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures), and effective communication with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years in a training role in a manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years in a Leadership or influencing role
  • Certification or experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies, such as Lean or Six Sigma
  • Experience working in a regulated industry

Responsibilities

  • Lead the plant Training program by mapping out and maintaining training plans and training schedules for hourly plant employees.
  • Design and develop training programs including apprenticeship programs, on the job training, and professional development classes.
  • Manage and evaluate Production Trainers to ensure effective execution of training processes and training delivery.
  • Collaborate with plant leaders and HR to identify training needs and create development plans for teams and individuals.
  • Conduct training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps.
  • Design, prepare, and order educational aids and materials.
  • Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and KPIs.
  • Design and apply assessment tools to measure training effectiveness.
  • Gather feedback from Production Trainers and trainees after each educational session.
  • Partner with Training Coordinators from other sites to ensure instructional design and training processes are standardized using best practices.
  • Maintain updated curriculum database, training matrix and training records for the plant.
  • Host train-the-trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts.
  • Continually evaluate training progress and training procedures to monitor and analyze course effectiveness and update curriculum as needed.
  • Comply with the EHS Policy and applicable regulatory and company EHS rules and requirements.
  • Promptly report any unsafe conditions, practices, or environmental concerns to supervision.
  • Resolve potential hazards swiftly to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Attend scheduled EHS trainings.
  • Actively assist the organization in achieving or surpassing EHS goals.
  • Identify areas for improvement in EHS practices and recommend enhancements.
  • Demonstrate safe work habits by adhering to general safety procedures, including correct techniques for lifting and bending, maintaining proper ergonomics, using equipment correctly, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Ensure that all fall protection procedures are strictly adhered to.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all safety procedures, including the enforcement and discipline related to Lockout/Tagout (LO/TO) procedures.
  • Follow Product Safety and Quality standards.
  • Follow GMP’s regarding food contact packaging.
  • Follow IPC product defense standards and comply with all Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements.
