About The Position

This position is located in the Emergency Management Section of the Operations Division of the Police Department within the City of Oklahoma City and is under the direction of an immediate supervisor. The Training Analyst is primarily responsible for researching, developing, designing, and implementing training programs for both supervisory and non-supervisory City employees.

Requirements

• Possession of a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in training or a related field.
• Possession of a valid Driver License (Operator or higher).
• Knowledge of employee training and development.
• Knowledge of and skill in applying effective instructional techniques.
• Skill in applying knowledge of research principles and practices.
• Skill in conducting training needs assessments.
• Skill in coordinating programs and projects.
• Skill in development and presentation of training programs.
• Skill in effective verbal and written communication using tact and diplomacy.
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
• Skill in making work-related decisions through analysis of large amounts of data and applying principles of logical thinking to solve practical problems.
• Ability to effectively present and deliver training using a variety of course styles.

• Ability to instruct participants in behind-the-wheel driver safety training (Utilities Department – Executive Leadership Division only).
• Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check and polygraph test prior to employment.
• Must read, understand, and be willing and able to comply with the Body Art/Visible Tattoo Policy.
• Must complete the required CJIS Security and Privacy Training and pass the online certification test.
• Must be subject to a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Interstate Identification Index (III) Fingerprint Background check after receiving a conditional offer of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in 911 emergency communications.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in police dispatch operations.
• Possession of a bachelor's degree or higher or completion of a bachelor's degree within one year; or five (5) years of combined 911 telecommunications and police dispatch experience in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum of three (3) years of training experience, which may include formal classroom instruction, on-the-job training, or frontline supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Identifying and assessing training needs.
• Presenting and delivering training programs using a variety of course styles, including classroom, field, virtual, and hands-on practical instruction.
• Maintaining accurate training records and documentation.
• Evaluating short and long-term training outcomes and objectives.
• Exchanging information and assisting with training program functions.
• Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with other City employees and external agency representatives.
• Instructing employees in safe driving techniques through approved driver training programs (Utilities Department – Executive Leadership Division only).
• Performing other duties as assigned.
