About The Position

EFJohnson Technologies is a subsidiary of JVCKENWOOD Corporation, a leading provider of P25 communications solutions for first responders in public safety and public service, the federal government, and industrial organizations. Our products are marketed under the EFJohnson and KENWOOD brands. EFJohnson provides wireless communications products and systems for public safety, commercial, and government customers. We design, manufacture, and market conventional and trunked radio systems, land mobile radio repeaters, and mobile and portable radios, including Project 25 digital radio products. As a Trainer, you’ll assist the Training Manager to devise our organizational training strategy, oversee its implementation, support customer training needs, and assess outcomes. This position professionally promotes the company through professional, responsive customer service support. This role is on site, out of our Lincoln, NE location.

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in a technical field or management field preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a technical environment.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a training department developing and presenting technical and hands on training.
  • Basic understanding of LMR systems and products a plus.
  • Must have experience developing curriculum for an online Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Experience with Online Learning Management System curriculum development.
  • Public safety involvement a plus.
  • Proven work experience as a Technical Trainer.
  • Work experiences with land mobile subscriber radios and/or systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral.
  • Effective leadership skills.
  • Ability to display genuine customer concern.
  • Ability to manage time and projects effectively.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to learn new RF technologies and related products.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to produce accurate and detailed documentation and reports of customer needs.
  • Proven ability to adhere to budget and provide input for forecasting.

Responsibilities

  • Presents online training, customer training, dealer training in both onsite and offsite locations.
  • Modifies existing training material to meet new program strategies.
  • Develops and updates new training materials by communicating with product managers to keep all collateral current to keep current with HW and SW releases.
  • Automates classroom presentation tools with online Learning Management System (LMS) format.
  • Maintains lab and lab equipment to current hardware and software releases.
  • Determines and manages training needs, training manuals and collaterals, videos based on customer and proposal requirements, and online repositories.
  • Consistently monitors the program to keep up with competitors' training programs and training techniques and evaluates the training program's success.
  • Maintains accurate training certifications and customer records.
  • Schedules training sessions effectively.
  • Communicates directly and professionally with customers to facilitate problem resolution via telephone, email, and letter while answering technical questions, and documenting customer suggestions and/or complaints.
  • Timely and proactively communicates with an emphasis on professionalism.
  • Manages projects related to customer training requests and records of trained technicians.
  • Effectively accepts and completes specials assignments and projects as directed.
  • Agrees to abide by the established Approval Matrix.
