This position involves essential job functions in Assembly, Welding, and Painting. The Trainee will be responsible for inspecting parts, assembling cranes and sub-assemblies, maintaining production flow, and ensuring quality standards are met. This includes working from shop orders, connecting and adjusting hydraulic and air systems, mounting power components, and recording logbook entries. The role also requires detecting and reporting defective materials or faulty operations, repairing or replacing defective parts, and performing torque operations. In welding, the Trainee will preheat and postheat parts, perform cosmetic welding, read and interpret documents, use gas heating and burning equipment, and maintain weld qualifications. For painting, responsibilities include operating steam equipment, applying body putty, using an orbital sander, preparing units with masking, and ensuring parts are clean before painting.
