About The Position

This is a junior-level position suited for candidates with limited experience in procurement or supply chain. Under general supervision of more senior personnel, performs purchasing activities mainly for fleet equipment parts, mechanic shop equipment and supplies, and related materials, while continuing to develop knowledge of Worley procurement processes and systems. Assignments are clearly defined and require the application of standard purchasing techniques, procedures, and criteria. Responsibilities include both independent execution of routine tasks and support on more complex purchasing activities. Reports directly to the Purchasing Manager. This position is located at the Worley Alaska Inc. Anchorage Fabrication Shop and is a permanent, non-rotational position.

Requirements

  • One to two (1-2) years working knowledge/experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to be covered by Worley auto insurer.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and consistently meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail while performing repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to learn quickly and follow established processes with consistency.
  • Ability to manage multiple routine transactions concurrently with minimal errors.
  • Basic understanding of business, accounting, or procurement concepts.
  • Good analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills applicable to standards set by the organization.
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with co-workers, vendors, and client representatives.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, etc).
  • Ability to learn and effectively use Worley Procurement and Fleet Management systems.
  • Ability to demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to remain reliable and self-motivated in a structured, task-driven work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with equipment parts and mechanic shop supplies strongly preferred.
  • Prior procurement experience.

Responsibilities

  • Receives purchasing assignments from more senior staff and independently manages routine tasks.
  • Reviews purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness and obtains clarification as needed.
  • Assists in the development of bidders lists and supplier qualifications.
  • Prepares and issues Requests for Quotation (RFQs) for non-engineered, commodity items and services.
  • Reviews quotations, prepares bid tabs as needed, and collaborates with supervisor and team members to compare quotes prior to making award recommendations.
  • Documents cost savings.
  • Prepares and issues purchase orders (POs) and change orders (COs) in a timely manner.
  • Maintains accurate, comprehensive, and auditable records for POs, requisitions, quotes, approvals, acknowledgements, and other relevant files, primarily in electronic and, as required, hard copy format.
  • Updates logs/reports as required and supports PO uploads into Worley’s materials/procurement/invoice management system.
  • Obtains acknowledgements, expedites materials, and communicates with suppliers to support timely delivery.
  • Identifies and escalates issues related to purchase orders; supports resolution, including billing or material delivery discrepancies.
  • Performs timely PO closeouts.
  • Assists in preparing manifest and freight bill of material for the weekly Anchorage-Deadhorse consolidation truck.
  • Continues to develop procurement, systems, and supplier management skills through on-the-job experience.
  • Other duties as assigned.
