About The Position

The Engineering and Building team sits within the Environment and Planning Directorate and focuses on services and advice in relation to engineering and building activities in the Cumberland area. The team is responsible for the delivery of engineering assessment, infrastructure design, traffic and transport, stormwater and flooding, and building assessment. In contributing to the overarching vision, the Trainee Business Administration will provide generalist support and administrative assistance to the broader Engineering and Building team and Council.

Requirements

  • Completed Higher School Certificate and/or demonstrated experience enabling the completion of tertiary study
  • Demonstrated ability to deal in a positive and courteous manner with the public and other workers
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess administrative and organisational skills, including attention to detail, ability to maintain accurate records and skills in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work as part of a team with good interpersonal skills.
  • The right to live and work in Australia
  • Be able to provide information for pre-employment checks required for the position, including attending a physical pre-employment medical examination as required
  • Participate in health monitoring as outlined in the risk assessment for this position and Council’s Health Monitoring Procedure, as required.
