About The Position

Orica is hiring a trainee operator based at its Deer Park Quarry sites. The position is part of a blast crew and offers training and support to perform blast-crew duties, work as a bench assistant, and eventually operate a Mobile Manufacturing Unit (MMU). The MMU is a heavy-rigid vehicle equipped with advanced technologies and onboard computer systems, used to pump explosive products into pre-drilled blast holes at customer sites. The role offers an opportunity to begin a career with a global mining and civil blasting company. The successful candidate will work in a safe, supportive team environment and provide service to quarry customers.

Requirements

Demonstrated previous experience working outdoors in all weather conditions in a physically demanding environment.
Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening.
A motivated self-starter with a positive, team-based attitude and a commitment to looking out for teammates.

Nice To Haves

A current Heavy Rigid (HR) driver's license is preferable.
Basic mechanical comprehension would be highly regarded.

Responsibilities
