About The Position

We are seeking a Medication Aide to support our residents in our Skilled Nursing Facility in Burnsville, MN. This role is responsible for providing senior resident care and services including administration of medications in our long term care and transitional care units under the direction of the nurse. This TMA patient support position includes: 64 hours in a 2-week pay period, Night shift hours, Every other weekend and rotating holidays. Ebenezer Ridges Care Center highlights a full continuum of care campus including Transitional Care, Adult Day Programs, Intergenerational Child Care, Long Term Care, Enhanced Care and Assisted Living/Memory Care. We are located across the street from Fairview Ridges Hospital at the I-35E and I-35W split in Burnsville, MN. Requirements

Nursing Assistant Course
Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry
Completion a standardized medication administration training program for unlicensed personnel in nursing homes which is offered through a Minnesota postsecondary educational institution. This does not expire as long as they keep their NAR certification current.

Responsibilities

Assists resident with personal cares based on individual plan of care
Observes residents and reports status to appropriate staff in a clear, concise manner
Assists with admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed
Follows all shift routines regarding measuring of vital signs, weights, and administration of medications and treatments
Dispenses meds using the right route, medication, resident time, and dose
Maintains an awareness of actual and potential side effects, adverse reactions, contraindications and purposes of medications
Maintains a clean medication cart
