About The Position

Cox Fleet is seeking motivated individuals to join their FleeTec Academy, a paid educational program designed to train individuals for a career as a full-time Trailer Technician. This program offers free education, tools, and a path to becoming a Mobile Trailer Mechanic. The program involves four weeks of full-time classroom training at the Academy Campus, followed by hands-on training with a Lead Technician. Upon successful completion, graduates will be employed as Mobile Trailer Mechanics, utilizing state-of-the-art vehicles to perform preventative maintenance and general repairs at customer locations. The role focuses on onsite repairs rather than emergency roadside assistance.

Requirements

  • Willingness and ability to study hard.
  • Dedication to be away from home for four weeks of training.
  • Maturity to focus on the task at hand.
  • Technical aptitude and a passion for fixing vehicles.
  • Ability to operate an iPad.
  • Must be at least 21 years or older.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must hold a valid state-of-residence driver’s license.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain their Driver Qualification File.
  • Must be able to successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.
  • A current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining until its expiration may be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical. If the DOT medical card has four (4) months or less of validity remaining, a DOT physical will be required.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a four-week full-time paid classroom training program at the Academy Campus.
  • Undergo further hands-on training with a Lead Technician in your market.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs on trailers at customer locations as a Mobile Trailer Mechanic.
  • Operate a state-of-the-art vehicle equipped for repairs.
  • Attend periodic classroom study sessions for continued skill development.
  • Maintain a Driver Qualification File.
  • Adhere to regulations issued by the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
