About The Position

DST Trailer Mechanic Trainee D shift (Springdale, LH Garage). Shop Personnel Job Descriptions/Responsibilities: Truck preventive maintenance technician will work cross-functionally across multiple areas of the garage, responsibilities include but are not limited to performing routine preventive maintenance repairs on trucks, performing emergency mechanical or electrical failures. Ability to diagnose and repair our truck engine and systems with our diagnostic programs. Abilities to perform minor structural welding and cutting task. Ability to safely apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned equipment and the ability to effectively communicate with all transportation personnel including managers, drivers, and clerks. Must be able to read and interpret instructions, manuals, and schematics. Along with basic math skills are necessary to perform these tasks at a satisfactory level. Basic computer skills will be necessary to document information, process daily work orders, and complete required documentation. Truck tech may be required to perform service calls on equipment at remote locations; a current valid driver’s license is required.

Requirements

  • 3 months experience preferred, but not required
  • Upon hire, team member will be required to advance to ME02 within 12 months of hire date.
  • Show proficiency on standard preventive maintenance (PM1’s, PM2’s for trucks or trailers depending on mechanic classification)
  • Brake Inspector Certification
  • Wheel end class/certification
  • Basic Electrical
  • Identify fault codes
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Must pass MVR check
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must not have any DUI/DWI convictions within the last 12 months
  • Must have 3 months of employment in the last 6 months with a single company.
  • Prior Tyson Team members are eligible for rehire after completing a 180-day waiting period.
  • Prior Tyson Team members cannot have worked 3 times or more for Tyson Foods.
