About The Position

DST Trailer Mechanic Trainee D shift (Russellville, LH Garage). This role involves performing routine preventive maintenance repairs on trucks and addressing emergency mechanical or electrical failures. The technician will use diagnostic programs to diagnose and repair truck engines and systems, and perform minor structural welding and cutting tasks. The position requires the ability to safely apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned equipment and communicate effectively with transportation personnel, including managers, drivers, and clerks. Reading and interpreting instructions, manuals, and schematics, along with basic math and computer skills for documentation and work order processing, are necessary. The truck tech may also be required to perform service calls at remote locations.

Requirements

Must have a current valid driver’s license.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must not have any DUI/DWI convictions within the last 12 months.
Must have 3 months of employment in the last 6 months with a single company.
Prior Tyson Team members are eligible for rehire after completing a 180-day waiting period.
Prior Tyson Team members cannot have worked 3 times or more for Tyson Foods.
Must pass MVR check.
Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

3 months experience preferred, but not required.
Show proficiency on standard preventive maintenance (PM1’s, PM2’s for trucks or trailers depending on mechanic classification).
Brake Inspector Certification
Wheel end class/certification
Basic Electrical
Identify fault codes

Responsibilities

Performing routine preventive maintenance repairs on trucks.
