About The Position

Trailer Equipment / Trailer X-Press is a family-owned, industry-leading heavy-duty truck and trailer dealership specializing in Sales, Service, Parts, and Leasing. We are seeking an experienced Semi-Trailer Technician / Mechanic to join our Byron Center service team. This role involves diagnosing and repairing various trailer issues, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring equipment operates correctly. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Ability to pass a drug screen, physical, audiogram, and lift test
Basic mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting abilities
Must provide own hand tools
Strong attendance, work ethic, and time-management skills
Ability to obtain a State Certification

Nice To Haves

2–5 years of semi-trailer, heavy-duty equipment, or diesel repair experience
Welding and fabrication experience
DOT inspection experience
Positive attitude and team-oriented approach

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair trailer mechanical, electrical, suspension, brake, and structural issues.
Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs.
Conduct welding, fabrication, and trailer body repairs.
Repair or replace damaged trailer components.
Perform DOT inspections and safety checks.
Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper operation.
Complete repair documentation accurately.
Maintain a safe, clean, and productive work environment.
