Requirements
- Previous trailer mechanic or heavy-duty mechanical experience required
- Welding and fabrication experience (MIG preferred)
- Experience with sheet metal repairs
- Hydraulic system knowledge
- Electrical wiring and lighting troubleshooting experience
- Brake and suspension repair experience
- Ability to operate shop equipment safely and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
- Valid driver's license required
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial trailers
- Repair roofs, sidewalls, flooring, doors, and structural components
- Repair and replace lighting and electrical wiring
- Perform brake, suspension, and wheel-end repairs
- Troubleshoot and repairing hydraulic systems
- Weld and fabricate trailer components
- Perform sheet metal repairs and fabrication
- Install rivets, bolts, and other fasteners
- Complete preventative maintenance inspections
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
- Document completed repairs and inspections
