About The Position

The Trailer Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing company trailers and related equipment. This position performs preventive maintenance and repairs to help ensure equipment remains safe, reliable, and ready for field operations.

Requirements

Working knowledge of trailer brake, suspension, air, and electrical systems.
Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, jacks, lifts, and other shop equipment.
Strong troubleshooting and mechanical problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

Previous trailer, heavy equipment, diesel, or related mechanical experience preferred.
Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
Valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair trailers and related equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance and routine safety inspections.
Diagnose and repair brake and air systems.
Repair suspension, axles, wheel-end components, landing gear, and related trailer components.
Troubleshoot and repair trailer lighting, wiring, and electrical systems.
Perform trailer body, frame, floor, door, and structural repairs as needed.
Perform basic welding and fabrication when required.
Identify worn or damaged components and recommend necessary repairs.
Complete work orders and accurately document maintenance and repairs performed.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
Follow company safety procedures and applicable DOT requirements.
Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.
