About The Position

Reyes Fleet Management is hiring immediately for the role of a 1st shift Trailer Mechanic A for our site in Portage, IN. This role will primarily be responsible for handling repairs on new and refurbished trailers. Shift: Full-Time l Day Shift 4:10s or M-F-No weekends! Pay: $28.00-$30.00/HR based on experience/qualifications

Requirements

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 2 to 4 years of related experience
Ability to frequently lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift 100 pounds
Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations to operate applicable company vehicles
Must possess own tools (have minimum tool requirement)

Responsibilities

Refurbishment and remanufacturing of company fleet assets
Diagnosing complex mechanical problems
Documenting work orders through the online AssetWorks system
Inspect, repair, and diagnose refrigeration and heating units, as well as hydraulic liftgate components
Assess the structural integrity and body of the asset
Repair and replace parts as needed
Perform the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) annual inspection certification
Work in a safe manner and maintain a clean and organized work area
Other duties as assigned
