About The Position

Prime, Inc. is looking for a hard-working, positive individual to contribute to the success of Prime by keeping truck and trailer equipment up to the company's high standards. This position will inspect, maintain, and make minor repairs/adjustments to tractors and trailers. It will be a mid-shift position.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); OR mechanical experience
Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
Any combination of education, training, and experience providing the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Must have a strong work history and mechanical knowledge.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
This position requires constant standing; frequent walking, head turning, stooping, squatting, reaching and grasping.
Candidate must be able to lift and carry up to 105lbs and also push and pull up to 115lbs.
Steel toed footwear, and safety glasses are required in the shop.
Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation to and from work.
Candidate must be able to pass a job specific post-offer physical prior to beginning employment with Prime, Inc.

Nice To Haves

Tractor mechanic, diesel mechanic, HVAC, lube technician or automotive technician experience would be great, but not needed. We are committed to training you if you have no experience.
Industrial experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Inspect units entering and exiting the yard to ensure the mechanical compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
Inspect tires, lights, and other exterior components for safe operating conditions.
Repairs, replaces, and adjusts malfunctioning equipment to restore operating condition specified in regulations and repair manuals.
Ensures the timely and authorized movement of equipment.
Refuels equipment as required.
Tracks and accounts for all Fuel and Inspection Bay inventory.
Perform DOT Inspections
Refuels equipment as required.
Inspect tires, lights, and other exterior components for safe operating conditions.
