About The Position

Prime, Inc. is looking for a hard-working, positive individual to contribute to the success of Prime by keeping truck and trailer equipment up to the company's high standards. This position will inspect, maintain, and make minor repairs/adjustments to tractors and trailers. It will be a mid-shift position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); OR mechanical experience
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Any combination of education, training, and experience providing the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Must have a strong work history and mechanical knowledge.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • This position requires constant standing; frequent walking, head turning, stooping, squatting, reaching and grasping.
  • Candidate must be able to lift and carry up to 105lbs and also push and pull up to 115lbs.
  • Steel toed footwear, and safety glasses are required in the shop.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Candidate must be able to pass a job specific post-offer physical prior to beginning employment with Prime, Inc.

Nice To Haves

  • Tractor mechanic, diesel mechanic, HVAC, lube technician or automotive technician experience would be great, but not needed. We are committed to training you if you have no experience.
  • Industrial experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect units entering and exiting the yard to ensure the mechanical compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
  • Inspect tires, lights, and other exterior components for safe operating conditions.
  • Repairs, replaces, and adjusts malfunctioning equipment to restore operating condition specified in regulations and repair manuals.
  • Ensures the timely and authorized movement of equipment.
  • Refuels equipment as required.
  • Tracks and accounts for all Fuel and Inspection Bay inventory.
  • Perform DOT Inspections
  • Refuels equipment as required.
  • Inspect tires, lights, and other exterior components for safe operating conditions.
