About The Position

TravelCenters of America is hiring for its Truck Service team. The role description is for a Mobile Maintenance Technician who travels to customer facilities or distribution centers in a fully equipped “bay on wheels” to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and trailers. The technician provides accurate, efficient customer service by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing vehicles, making recommendations about wear conditions, and following Truck Service Standard Services and specialized customer programs. The role also requires following safety guidelines and reporting potentially unsafe situations. The work may take place outdoors in all seasons and can involve exposure to fumes, particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, dirt, dust, grease, oil, gas, and concentrated cleaning solutions. The position requires the physical activities and abilities described below, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
• Ability to work in interior and exterior conditions.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Must pass a DOT physical examination annually.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a repair or parts shop is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer facilities or distribution centers to perform preventive maintenance services and repairs.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers in a professional and accommodating manner.
