About The Position

ATS Traffic is a family-owned business established in 1966, providing traffic control, on-street services, and signage products across Canada with offices in multiple cities including Saskatoon. The Saskatoon branch is currently recruiting for Traffic Control People (TCP's or Traffic Technicians) for the 2026 season. This role involves implementing protected Work Areas for contractors within Saskatoon and Saskatchewan. Responsibilities include setting up and removing devices such as barricades, pylons, signage, and digital messaging boards to create safe lane closures and traffic detours.

Requirements

  • A valid Non-GDL (non-graduated) Class 5 Driver’s License
  • A Clean 3-Year Regular Drivers Abstract
  • Undergo and pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Test (zero tolerance policy for marijuana, medical or recreational)
  • Ability to successfully pass a Fit Test including lifting between 50 to 75 pounds
  • Own vehicle to get to and from work is required as ATS is not located on public transit routes
  • Bring a pair of CSA Approved Safety Boots on your first day

Nice To Haves

  • A year of previous traffic control experience, specifically lane closures and takedowns
  • Experience with Flat Deck trucks and Towing trailers
  • Navigation of City of Saskatoon
  • A valid ACSA TCP Ticket (ATS covers the cost and provides all training and tickets)

Responsibilities

  • Implement protected Work Areas for contractors and the like, within Saskatoon and Saskatchewan
