About The Position

This role involves setting up, loading, unloading, and warehousing of product or supplies using a forklift. The operator will be responsible for safely maneuvering a forklift in narrow aisles, transporting materials to and from production equipment, and potentially operating a pallet jack. Key responsibilities include maintaining warehouse and transaction accuracy, production reporting, and inventory management of both product and supplies. The position requires learning and utilizing SAP for data entry via computer terminals and handheld devices. Additionally, the operator must maintain a neat and orderly work area, assist with quality control sampling, and perform other clerical duties as assigned. Safety is paramount, including performing pre-shift forklift safety inspections and completing inspection forms. Successful candidates must qualify as a forklift operator by passing medical, written, and practical exams. The role involves repetitive loading and unloading of ingredients up to 50 lbs and requires a working knowledge of standard safety and operation procedures for lift trucks. The position may require working at alternate facility locations (North Logan or Logan) and potentially on Saturdays or Sundays, as well as working other shifts as assigned. Maintaining a clean work environment, including occasional janitorial duties like sweeping and mopping, is also expected. Compliance with all site and equipment safety and quality good manufacturing practices guidelines is mandatory.

Requirements

  • Must have obtained a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Must be able to qualify as a forklift operator by passing a medical exam, written and practical exams.
  • Must demonstrate a working knowledge of standard safety and operation procedures for lift trucks.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up, loading, unloading, or warehousing of product or supplies with a forklift.
  • Operating a forklift in narrow aisles and safely taking materials to and retrieving materials from production equipment locations.
  • Operating a pallet jack.
  • Maintaining warehouse and transaction accuracy.
  • Production reporting as necessary.
  • Inventories of both product and supplies.
  • Learning and using SAP for data entry on forklift computer terminals, handhelds, and desktop computers.
  • Keeping work areas neat, clean, and orderly.
  • Assisting in collecting quality control samples.
  • Performing other clerical duties or tasks as assigned by supervision.
  • Performing safety inspections of the forklift before use and filling out the safety inspection form on each shift.
  • Repetitious loading and unloading of ingredients weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Maintaining a clean work environment at warehouse facilities.
  • Performing janitorial duties (sweeping, mopping, etc.) on occasion.
  • Complying with all site and equipment safety and quality good manufacturing practices guidelines.
