The purpose of this classification is to install, maintain, and repair traffic signal systems and related components to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous flow of traffic. The work involves acting as a lead to assigned staff, coordinating daily work activities, and performing hands-on installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and calibration of traffic signal systems and their components. This role also includes inspecting traffic signal systems for compliance, ensuring adherence to traffic control regulations, operating various machinery and equipment, performing preventive maintenance, following safety procedures, and maintaining knowledge of relevant policies and procedures. Additionally, the position involves inventory management, communication with various stakeholders, preparing reports, and responding to emergency maintenance issues on an on-call basis.
