About The Position

We have an exciting career opportunity for a Traffic Senior Project Manager with our Civil Transportation Traffic team. In this role you will assist in the growth of our local team through marketing, responding to RFP’s, managing projects and teams. You will work on various transportation projects with state and local transportation agencies. The ideal candidate has experience with traffic operations and safety in addition to comprehensive knowledge of local, state (CDOT) and federal (FHWA) standards and requirements. This position will have a hybrid work schedule and, when in the office, will work from our Denver, CO office.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 20 years of diverse and progressive traffic engineering experience.
  • Licensed PE in the state of CO.
  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience working with public agencies and/or municipalities.
  • Senior manager experienced with building, managing and leading teams.
  • Progressive experience with developing and overseeing the development of plans analysis and reports per DOT standards and requirements.
  • Excellent communication and client relation skills.
  • Strong organization skills with a track record for adhering to design budgets and schedules.
  • Knowledge of project-specific software such as Synchro, HCS, SIM traffic, SIDRA, VISSM, etc.
  • Knowledgeable with TIS reviews, signal warrants, signal timing, crash data analysis, and work zone safety.
  • Candidate with advanced understanding of traffic safety and operations including innovative technologies.

Nice To Haves

  • CDOT experience is preferred.
  • Experience coordinating with contractors, designers, local agencies and CDOT on CMGC projects is a plus.
  • Candidate knowledgeable with statewide traffic policies and FHWA requirements is preferred.
  • Candidate engaged with professional organizations such as AASHTO, APWA, ITE, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the growth of the Denver Transportation Team through marketing to identify opportunities and respond to RFP’s with winning proposals.
  • Leading teams to Manage project scopes and budgets.
  • Manage project analysis and deliverables.
  • Work in a collaborative environment, with team members, senior staff, and external clients.
  • Interacting with clients, agencies, and other project stakeholders, including the DOT.
  • Represent Benesch at industry and professional engagement events.
