AECOM is currently seeking a part-time Traffic Monitoring Specialist to help support our projects located within the Sanford, FL area. Work is in a 24/7 emergency operations/dispatch environment and will include overnight, weekend, and holiday hours. Work often involves repetitive functions and is performed indoors at a desk that can be adjusted for sitting or standing. This is a public safety function that requires focus and the ability to prioritize. Work can be fast-paced and intense, requiring organizational skills and an attention to detail. Position works under limited supervision performing relatively complex technical work. Provides services at client site in Sanford, FL. Answers calls from outside partners and stakeholders. Utilizes FDOT's ITS devices (CCTV cameras and speed/volume detectors) along with Advanced Traffic Management System (SunGuide) and other software to monitor and manage freeway and arterial traffic. Provide driver feedback via overhead signs and FL511. Will dispatch Road Rangers and other FDOT incident management resources using telephones and push-to-talk systems. Will document, in detail, activity relating to all traffic incidents to create historical documentation of the incident. May perform data entry functions beyond event documentation. Routine monitoring ITS equipment (CCTV cameras and speed/volume detectors) and report any technical issues that need repair. Ongoing monitoring of repair status and notification if repairs are exceeding allowed time. Learn signal timing principles and notification procedures for local maintaining agencies. Participate in a continual improvement process of all operational activities. Assist with various other roles such as public information, mapping, performance measures, signal cabinet/field work, contract management. Follow statewide Standard Operating Guidelines and local Standard Operating Procedures to precision.
