About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Traffic Engineer with a strong interest in traffic engineering, intelligent transportation systems, and traffic operations and design to join their Alabama team. This role will support the growing traffic and ITS group in developing Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), Traffic System Upgrades, Integrated Corridor Management (ICM), and Active Traffic Management (ATM) policies. The engineer will utilize data to identify operational and safety needs, prepare design plans, and engage in CAV corridor planning. Responsibilities also include routine traffic engineering tasks such as data collection and analysis, volume development, future year traffic projections, traffic analysis, alternative design development, and study documentation. The role involves traffic design work including traffic signal design, permanent signing, pavement markings, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). A location in Southern California is preferred. Candidates will have the ability to work remotely or in office, with potential requirements to attend in-person client meetings.
