AECOM is seeking a Traffic & Intelligent Transportation System Manager to be based in Indianapolis, Indiana. This position will involve project management for traffic-related projects with opportunities to lead design on ITS projects. The role includes supervision of junior staff for project development and coordination of tasks, performing various management, leadership, and people accountability responsibilities for a specific technical group or department. The individual will have full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating technical assignments. Responsibilities include traffic analysis, forecasting, safety studies, traffic simulation, and conceptual planning/design. They will also be involved in creating plan sheets, specifications & estimates, technical memoranda, reports, presentations, and other project documentation, including ITS or emerging technology projects following the systems engineering process. The role requires active participation in the team’s production of technical deliverables and working with Early in Career staff to review technical work and project documentation. Delivering assigned tasks on schedule and budget, while adhering to AECOM quality standards, is crucial. The position involves coordinating directly with other discipline groups within AECOM, as well as with external clients and sub-consultants. Work will be performed in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision. The individual will independently perform all tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works and coordinate with Business Development leaders to capture project opportunities. This role is responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the field, typically requiring extensive progressive experience. Work is performed under minimal supervision, with supervision received being essentially administrative, and assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits. The manager will manage a group of engineers and/or technicians, coordinating the activities of the unit.
