About The Position

Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated student to participate in our Gilbert Undergraduate Internship Program as an Engineering Intern! Working alongside our Traffic Engineering team, you'll have the opportunity to work on different projects within the Engineering group. This internship provides hands-on experience working in local government. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • A current student enrolled in an undergraduate program pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field, with an interest in transportation, traffic operations, or municipal infrastructure.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic exposure or coursework experience with ArcGIS, data analysis or database management
  • Strong technical aptitude for working with software tools, data entry and validation and organizing complex datasets
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills for collaborating cross-departmentally with engineering and IT teams
  • Possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Traffic Engineering division with asset management, software configuration, data collection and validation.
  • Leverage ArcGIS for infrastructure asset tracking, supporting the configuration and data validation of traffic signal performance metrics system or safety software.
  • Perform data collection, data entry, quality control, and create analytical data filters, charts or reports to assist engineering staff with traffic studies.
