Traffic Engineering Technician – Asset Data & Field Assessment

Help shape how roadway infrastructure is managed and maintained. This role sits at the intersection of field operations, data, and engineering support. You will play a key role in documenting, analyzing, and supporting decisions around roadway assets, helping ensure traffic control devices and infrastructure are accurately tracked, assessed, and maintained. Requirements
- Experience in traffic engineering, roadway maintenance, or construction
- Familiarity with asset management or inventory systems
- CADD experience (MicroStation, AutoCAD, or similar)
- Experience supporting contracts or public-sector projects
- Experience with roadway, traffic control devices, or infrastructure data
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents
- Strong attention to detail and ability to organize complex information
- Proficiency with Excel and basic data tracking/reporting tools
- Valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
- Conduct field data collection and inventory of roadway assets, including: Traffic signs and structures, Pavement markings and markers, Guardrail systems
- Maintain and update asset data in tracking systems and reports
- Review and interpret roadway plans, specifications, and standards
- Analyze data to support maintenance planning and contractor work
- Prepare detailed documentation, reports, and contract support materials
- Identify inconsistencies, gaps, or improvement opportunities in asset data
- Support outsourcing and contract-related data requirements
- Work independently to compile accurate, decision-ready information
