About The Position

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, self-driven, motivated-to-learn Traffic/Safety Engineering Intern for employment in the Greenville, SC office. This role involves working on rewarding traffic/safety engineering projects within a diverse culture, receiving exceptional training and mentoring from a dynamic team of transportation engineering professionals. The intern will work with project managers and lead engineers to assist with various tasks related to traffic safety and operations.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Must have completed one year of study.

Nice To Haves

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and basic data science concepts.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word and willingness to learn advanced techniques.

Responsibilities

Assist Traffic Safety and Traffic Operations professionals as needed.
Research and analyze vehicular and vulnerable road user (pedestrian, bicyclist, personal conveyance device user, or worker in a work zone) crash data.
Provide analysis to support development of design or operational ideas and solutions.
Develop an awareness of standard engineering practices, techniques, and procedures.
Assist in preparation of studies, conceptual designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings and working drawings.
Communicate and collaborate in a team environment and adapt to dynamic project needs.
