This position is responsible for engineering traffic studies using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute and coordinate assignments with limited supervision. Acts as a technical advisor to less experienced engineers. Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of general engineering principles and practices
  • Limited supervision
  • Technical advisor to less experienced engineers
  • Proficiency in performing traffic analysis utilizing traffic software such as HCS and Synchro
  • Ability to conduct safety evaluations and crash assessments.
  • Ability to develop solutions to mitigate traffic deficiencies
  • Ability to assist in the preparation of conceptual layouts depicting recommended improvements
  • Ability to prepare technical memorandums and reports associated with large and medium scale traffic studies
  • Knowledge of traffic control devices design that include signing, markings, signals, lighting, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) using CAD software
  • Ability to coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality
  • Strong technical writing and analytical skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform field observation and collect traffic data.
  • Learn and become proficient in performing traffic analysis utilizing traffic software such as HCS and Synchro
  • Conduct safety evaluations and crash assessments.
  • Develop solutions to mitigate traffic deficiencies
  • Assist in the preparation of conceptual layouts depicting recommended improvements
