About The Position

Requirements

Traffic Controller Person (TCP) certification or the willingness to obtain if needed.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid Class 5 driver’s license, and Driver’s Abstract, with less than 6 demerits.
Applicant must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
Valid First Aid with CPR or willingness to obtain.
Ability to work as part of a team in physically demanding environments.
Motivated to learn independently and from team members, with strong time management skills.
Proficiency in operating and maintaining tools and equipment.
Comfortable working in noisy environments with proper PPE.
Willingness to work long hours, overtime, and participate in on-call rotations during emergencies.

Nice To Haves

Basic knowledge of trees, including identification and growth habits would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Direct and control vehicle and pedestrian traffic at work sites, ensuring smooth flow and minimal disruption.
Monitor site conditions and implement safety protocols to protect workers and the public.
Report any hazards or incidents immediately.
Erect and maintain traffic control signs, cones, and barriers in accordance with applicable regulations and best practices.
Serve as the primary point of contact for motorists and pedestrians, providing clear directions and information regarding detours and delays.
Work closely with crew members and site supervisors to coordinate operations and minimize traffic disruption.
Document daily activities, incidents, and any traffic-related issues encountered during work shifts.
Other duties as required.
