About The Position

Quail Construction, part of Helix Traffic Solutions, provides traffic control, construction, and traffic management services throughout Arizona and Nevada. The Traffic Control Technician performs roadway signing and traffic control work supporting construction, infrastructure projects, and special events. On-the-job training will be provided. The position is on-site and full-time, with a pay range of $18.00–$20.00 per hour.

Requirements

Reliable attendance and ability to report to work on time each day.
Dependable transportation to and from the job site.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including high temperatures.
Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

Commercial Driver’s License (CDL); possession may result in a higher hourly wage.
High school diploma or GED.
Traffic Control Technician or Traffic Control Supervisor training; training may be provided during employment.

Responsibilities

Install and maintain traffic control devices on or adjacent to job sites.
Set and maintain traffic control throughout projects, ensuring devices remain properly located and in working condition.
Construct sign foundations, including setting forms, placing reinforcing steel and anchor bolts, and pouring concrete.
Erect pipe and angle iron frameworks using bolting, welding, or other approved methods before sign installation.
Hoist and fasten prefabricated directional and informational signs to frameworks.
Read plans to locate, drill holes, and position signs accurately.
Perform related signing work, including installing delineators, pavement striping, striping removal, reflective pavement markers, lane closures, and detours.
Service, maintain, and repair equipment and traffic control devices as needed.
