About The Position

The Traffic Control Technician performs a variety of duties related to roadway signing and traffic control projects. On-the-job training will be provided. The role involves installing and maintaining traffic control devices, constructing sign foundations, erecting sign frameworks, installing signs, and performing related roadway signing work. The position is full-time, on-site, and pays $18.00–$20.00 per hour.

Requirements

Reliable attendance and the ability to report to work on time each day.
Dependable transportation to and from the job site.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including high temperatures.
Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), which may result in a higher hourly wage.
High school diploma or GED.
Traffic Control Technician or Traffic Control Supervisor training.

Responsibilities

Install and maintain traffic control devices on or adjacent to job sites.
Set and maintain traffic control throughout project duration, ensuring devices remain in proper location and working condition.
Construct sign foundations, including setting forms, placing reinforcing steel and anchor bolts, and pouring concrete.
Erect pipe and angle iron frameworks by bolting, welding, or other approved methods prior to sign installation.
Install prefabricated directional and informational signs by hoisting them into place and fastening them to frameworks.
Read and work from plans to accurately locate and drill holes and position signs.
Perform related signing work, including delineators, pavement striping, striping removal, reflective pavement markers, lane closures, and detours.
Service, maintain, and repair equipment and traffic control devices as needed.
