Requirements

• One year as a Traffic Control Specialist Trainee (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Two years as a Traffic Control Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or One year of experience in traffic control work; and a Bachelor's Degree in mathematics, civil engineering, or a closely related field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Meet the PA residency requirement.
• Able to perform essential job functions.
• Pass a background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting ITS devices and communication systems
• Help review ITS plans, attend technical training, and support equipment design activities
• Support day-to-day operations of the Traffic Management Center and assist in training new staff
• Participate in incident management activities, drills, and emergency communication efforts
• Review special event permits and coordinate needed changes with applicants
• Conduct field views, support traffic studies, and assist with traffic signal evaluations
