About The Position
Traffic Engineering Services (TES), a Helix Traffic Solutions Company, is hiring a safety-minded, dependable Traffic Control Flagger in Maryland. TES provides traffic control services including flagging, lane closures, mobile operations, emergency response, and traffic control equipment sales and rentals. This is an in-person position: employees report to the Elkridge, Maryland yard before being transported to assigned job sites. The role is open to people new to the industry as well as those with prior road construction or highway experience. TES provides entry-level flagger training and advanced traffic control courses to support skill development and advancement.
Requirements

- Ability to remain alert and safety-focused in a fast-paced outdoor work environment.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
Nice To Haves
- Previous traffic control, road construction, or highway experience.
- Valid driver's license (preferred but not required).
Responsibilities
- Direct and control vehicle and pedestrian traffic around construction sites and designated work zones.
- Help establish and maintain safe work zones to protect construction crews, customers, pedestrians, and the traveling public.
- Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices as directed.
- Monitor job site conditions and promptly report potential hazards, unsafe conditions, or concerns to supervisors.
- Work with crew members, supervisors, and job site personnel to support safe and efficient operations.
- Communicate clearly and professionally about traffic patterns, changing conditions, and safety procedures.
- Follow company policies, safety procedures, and applicable traffic control standards.
- Remain alert and focused in active roadway environments and changing weather conditions.
